10 Things That I Do Best....

As a member of the Professional Crafters Guild, I'm currently taking part in this month's workshop all about blogging..

The challenge is to write a post about either :

• '10 Reasons Why....
• '10 Things That Make Me Happy'
• '10 Things That I Do Best'

Don't ask me why but I chose No.3......this is so far out of my comfort zone as I'm more of a wallflower type than a queen bee so blowing my own trumpet is not something I do best.

However I'm hoping this post comes across as more of a 'Getting to know me....the person behind Purrfectly Handmade' rather than anything else.
All my life I've known I was more of a practical person than academic and I think this will become very apparent straight away.

Music:

1. I play the violin....I passed Grade 8 in 1988 and a Performance Certificate in 1994. I was going to go on to teach the violin but life threw a curve ball and that was sidelined.
2. Singing.....I can't remember a time when I didn't sing. I've was involved in choirs and orchestras growing up and into my adult life.

Sport:

1. Sport has always been a big part of my life, taking part and supporting. Not surprising really when I was practically born on a bicycle as my mum was still cycling right up to giving birth. I was in the netball, volleyball, hockey and athletics teams and cycled everywhere. It's only in recent years that my activities are now limited to cycling and walking due to permanent neck, lower back and now foot injuries.
   

Creative:

1. Crafting.....well I couldn't really leave this out. Sewing, knitting, pottery, woodwork are all things I've incorporated into my business.
2. Cooking....I've always cooked being brought up in the era before microwave meals and take- aways. I pride myself in cooking everything from scratch. There's nothing better than knowing exactly what you're eating. My Hubs and our friends are my guinea pigs for trying my creations especially when I rework recipes to healthy versions.

Cats:

1. Cat Parent.....I grew up with all sorts of pets but the last 25 years, along with my Hubs, I've been a cat parent to a total of 9 cats, both male & female. We seemed to attract them kittens, adults, rescues with or without problems. As the saying goes 'Cats aren't are whole life but they make our lives whole'
2. Pet Meds....ever tried giving a cat meds? It can be a battle of wills but I class myself as an expert at this due to one of my furballs being on twice daily meds since last Nov. Hints & Tips on this can be for a later post.

Being Organised:

1. Lists....I can't function without a list, calendars, daily and weekly planners. My husband despairs sometimes but I schedule & plan like there's no tomorrow and for running a business it's fundamental. I take it as a compliment when I friend once said "I wish I was as focused as you".
2. Patience...I have this in bucket loads and it takes a lot to get my back up.
3. Bookkeeping...I set up R2's Bookkeeping back in 2010 to run along side my crafting and these are now my main focus and income.
